Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"My buddy just got back from Taiwan and was already missing the food, so we stopped in for lunch—and wow, mission accomplished. This spot is mostly takeout (which most people seemed to be doing), but there are a few tables if you want to eat there with minimal fuss. Everything is cooked fresh to order and somehow still comes out fast, which is always a win. The pork chop and rice was the standout for me—comfort food done right. Already planning my return."
"The food here is truly authentic Taiwanese cuisine, and the décor is beautiful. The restaurant doesn’t have many seats, so I asked the server why. They explained that the owner wanted customers to be able to see the open kitchen, ensuring the cleanliness of the food. The server even helped us pack some complimentary soup to take home. When my child spoke, the server crouched down to listen such a respectful gesture. Despite the place being incredibly busy, I saw several staff members constantly rushing around, yet they remained professional, courteous, and very polite in their conversations."
"Good place for some Taiwanese type food. Inside is bright and simply decored. A few tables for seating. You can order at the tablet kiosks. The bento dishes are good. They come with lots of veggies so I feel like it's pretty healthy. The menu also has some noodle dishes so it's worth coming for multiple visits. Service was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the shopping center lot."
"East LA friends !you’ve probably been to the famous Dago Bento in Chino Hills, but they recently moved, and the new location comes with a semi-buffet . Once you order your entrée, you get unlimited soup, Taiwanese desserts, and drinks. At the buffet bar, the brown sugar ginger tea is perfect for winter, and the plum lemonade is a classic Taiwanese flavor. Of course, I grabbed a classic boba milk tea not too sweet with super chewy boba. For food, the Taiwanese beef noodle soup is a must. Seafood lovers shouldn’t miss the oyster pancake and the new fried squid honestly the most authentic oyster pancake I’ve had since visiting Taiwan. And dessert? Their grass jelly red bean pudding is huge and totally shareable between 3–4 people. They also offer gift cards with 10–15% off now until the end of the year, which you can also add to Apple Wallet. So it won’t go missing. Right! you’re basically paying around $12–$13 for a meal plus semi-buffet !! If you’re nearby or craving Taiwanese food, this is a must-visit! 洛杉磯東區有名台式餐廳 現在還有折上折優惠 IG: socalhkfoodies"
"Authentic bentos, huge portions, quality as good as the previous location"
"Always providing great service and the food, oh my, the best in town. We are so lucky to have them in chino hills. They used to be located by the Costco plaza but moved recently. Highly recommended. I personally like their rice dishes and drinks."
"At their old location, I would get their popcorn chicken to-go since they were usually busy. Now, they moved from the Costco plaza to the plaza across from Veteran's Park. There's a kiosk if you want to order take-out. Seating area is small, I got a table and ordered a deep fried squid combo ($15) which is pickled daikon radish, steamed broccoli, bean sprouts, fried squash, minced pork with rice and fried squid. Wait time was not long since I came before the dinner rush. They do have an area where you can get water or wintermelon tea with miso soup. Staff is nice, good amount of parking space."
"Love Dago! They have so many tasty Taiwanese dishes to choose from, and everything is always fresh and flavorful. The service is super friendly and fast. One of my go-to spots in Chino Hills!"
